The tournament is a four-round stroke play event with team and individual gross and nett competitions. The four student teams can be boys, girls or mixed and no older than 19.

The organiser’s policy is one of inclusion – there are no qualifications required beyond being a member of a school team, having a recognised golf handicap, a love of the game of golf and a desire to meet other college golfers from around the world and to experience all that Cape Town has to offer. The tournament is unique because there is no other international schools team event with an individual element for middle to higher handicap golfers.

The WSGC management team includes people with over 20 years of experience arranging professional and amateur golf events. The tournament is enthusiastically supported by the host clubs and will be a celebration of junior golf and a once in a life-time experience for high school golfers, their coaches, teachers and families.
